Bargaining Updates as of Friday March 5, 2010

Addiction Foundation of Manitoba: Local bargaining meetings are being held across the province.

ANCR:  The results of the survey were presented to ANCR members this October. The Local Executive has now decided to release the results of the phone survey online.

Beacon Hill Lodge: Bargaining proposal meeting being held March 10, notice has been given to employer to commence bargaining.

Canadian Blood Services:  Bargaining reached an impasse March 4th, on monetary issues. The bargaining committee has made a request for conciliation services to have a conciliator assist the parties in reaching a settlement.

Centre de santé Saint-Boniface: L’entente provisoire a été ratifiée le lundi 21 décembre 2009. Le syndicat et l’employeur corrigeront le texte final avant d’imprimer la nouvelle entente dans la nouvelle année. Les taux horaires seront ajustés dans les prochaines semaines. Ensuite, la paie retro sera calculée et payée.
The tentative agreement was ratified on Monday, December 21st, 2009. The union and the employer will correct the final text before printing the new agreement in the new year. Hourly rate will be adjusted in the next few weeks. Subsequently, retro pay will be calculated and paid.

Child and Family Service Western: Bargaining proposals have been gathered and notice to commence bargaining has been given to the employer.

Civil Service:  Bargaining proposal meetings have been completed, and the union is currently preparing the proposal package.

Colleges:  Red River College and Assiniboine Community College have met with the employer thirty times since July 2009. Agreement has been reached on a number of issues and both sides will continue to work through outstanding proposals. An additional 12 dates have been scheduled for bargaining throughout the next several months.

Community Support:  Bargaining dates set for March.

COR Enterprises: Bargaining proposals have been gathered and notice to commence bargaining has been given to the employer.

Dakota Oyate Lodge Inc:  Letter sent to Chief and Council, waiting for reply.

Family Services Family Support:  Tentative agreement reached, information and ratification meeting meeting to be held March 8.

Family Visions Inc:  Information session and ratification vote to be held March 17, see web site calendar for times and location.

Golden Door Geriatric Centre:  Notice to commence bargaing has been given to the employer and bargaining proposals submitted.

Halcrow Lake Day Care:  Tentative settlement has been reached, local meeting to be scheduled shortly.

Health Care Support Services Component:  The arbitration decision on vacation for part-time employees has been received by MGEU. The arbitrator accepted the union’s position in its entirety, collective agreemens will be mailed out shortly.

Knowles Centre:  Waiting for the employer’s response.

MacDonald Youth Services – YECSS: Notice to commence bargaining has been given to the employer, bargaining proposal meeting to be held shortly.

Manitoba Agricultural Service Corporation (Adjustors): Bargaining proposal meetings have been held across the province and proposal gathered. Bargaining committee will meet to finalize proposals and notice has been given to employer to commence bargaining.

Manitoba Gaming Control Commission:  Bargaining proposal meeting to be held March 17 and notice has been given to commence bargaining.

Manitoba Housing:  The employer has nearly completed all classification work required and the committee will resume its work by the end of March on the transition to the Civil Service.

Medical Transportation Coordination Centre:  Bargaining proposals being developed, notice to bargain will be served to Employer in February.

Nelson House Personal Care Home:  Bargaining dates set for February 24 and 26.

Nisichawayashk Cree Nation Family and Community Wellness Centre (NCN):    Tentative agreement in the works and meeting with membership to be held shortly.

Osborne House: Notice to commence bargaining has been given to the employer, bargaining proposal meeting to be held shortly.

Poseidon Care Centre:  Bargaining committee has met and notice has been given to employer to commence bargaining.

Project Neechewam: Waiting for response from the employer.

ROSE Inc.: New local meeting for 1st collective agreement discussions and to gather bargaining proposals.

Sandy Bay First Nation:  Waiting to hear from employer on new bargaining dates, bargaining proposal meeting to be held March 22.

Society for Manitobans with Disabilities:  Tentative agreement ratified February 4, 2010.

South Indian Lake Community Council (OPCN):  Remoteness allowance arbitration.  Arbitrator awarded members retroactive payment to 2005, plus applicable increases and interest to OPCN members.  Federal Court of Appeal dismissed OPCN's case challenging the scope of the MGEU bargaining unit and upheld the Canada Labour Board's ruling that all previous members of South Indian Lake Community Council are covered under the agreement.

St Amant CRP:  Bargaining proposal have been finalized and notice has been given to employer to commence bargaining.

Tamarack Rehabilitation Inc:  Waiting for response from the employer.

Technical/Professional Component: Bargaining proposal meetings are now complete.  Bargaining committee will be meeting in the new year to finalize proposals.

Travel Manitoba: Bargaining proposal gathered and notice has been given to employer to commence bargaining. Bargaining dates have been set in fro March.

Westman Regional Lab Support Services:  Next bargaining date set for March 3.

Westman Women’s Shelter:  Bargaining proposals being developed, notice to bargain will be served to Employer in February.

Winnipeg Art Gallery: Tentative agreement ratified February 2, 2010.

Winnipeg Clinic:  Next bargaining dates set for March 12, April 9 and 30.

Winnipegosis and District Ambulance Service:  Next bargaining date set for February 8.

WRHA Community Programs:  Bargaining committee met and finalized proposals and notice has been given to commence bargaining.

YWCA Residence Inc.  Notice served to commence bargaining, awaiting dates.
