Education Calendar and Program Guide

MGEU Education

Every two years, the MGEU publishes its schedule of Membership Education programs for stewards, local officers and workplace health and safety representatives in the Calendar and Program Guide. 

This guide features descriptions of all courses offered as well as the two-year schedule. It also includes a section on frequently asked questions, such as how you can apply to attend courses, how many you can take in any given year, etc.

As a newly-elected or appointed steward and/or local table officer, you should also work with your staff representative to ensure that your Election Certification form is sent to the MGEU Membership Department. This will ensure that you are entered in the Membership Education database and receive invitations to future courses that you are entitled to attend.

Affiliate Education Programs
Each year, the MGEU Membership Education Committee sponsors a limited number of MGEU activists who are interested in participating in courses or conferences coordinated by affiliates such as the Manitoba Federation of Labour and the Winnipeg Labour Council. Requests can be forwarded to the Coordinators of Membership Education or Workplace Health and Safety.
